What makes Senior Living at WhiteStone so amazing? If you ask Marie Dunn, Director of Sales and Marketing, the answer is easy: everything!
“Since 1912, our Life Plan Community has been providing an active retirement lifestyle and peace of mind for the future for so many seniors and their families,” Dunn says. “Our lifestyle is rooted in warm hospitality, a homelike and family feel and unique southern charm. We’re all about living well and providing you with a stable foundation to enjoy your golden years.”
WhiteStone was founded in 1912 as a Masonic and Eastern Star senior living community. It’s the first and oldest Life Plan Community (or Continuing Care Retirement Community) in North Carolina, and it was the first Masonic Fraternal Home in the U.S. created solely to care for the elderly. Today, WhiteStone is open to any older adult looking for a secure retirement in a comfortable, welcoming setting.
“Though our community has moved forward and changed with the times since we opened our doors, our values remain steadfast,” Dunn says. “We strive to create a culture of friendship and compassion that enhances the quality of life for everyone in our community.”

Our main dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with flexible hours for your convenience. A private dining room is also available for personal entertaining and special events, and when the weather’s nice, the patio outside our main dining room offers an inviting spot for al fresco dining. Our popular Bistro is perfect for a light breakfast, lunch or coffee with friends. Our bar area is also a popular spot for casual get-togethers, and many of our residents enjoy the weekly “wine down” with live entertainment.

So we take a whole-person approach that encompasses eight dimensions of wellness to ensure that this is the best, healthiest and happiest stage of your life. Our community provides wellness opportunities for physical, intellectual, emotional, social, vocational, environmental and spiritual needs – ensuring that every aspect of your health is catered to, lifted up and treated.
An Independent Lifestyle
If you’ve been craving an independent lifestyle that also takes away the worry of home maintenance and repairs, WhiteStone is the place for you. We take care of all the details so you can spend time relaxing, pursuing your hobbies, heading off on adventures, making and meeting new friends or anything else that strikes your fancy. It’s the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming about with none of the downsides. In fact, most of our residents tell us that they wish they’d moved here sooner.
